Our Partners

North British selects three local charities to support and employees are encouraged to participate in fundraising activities. Our chosen charities our Big Hearts, Scottish Autism and Four Square.

Big Hearts

Big Hearts is an independent charity, working to improve the lives of people at higher risk of social isolation across local communities, with a focus on south west Edinburgh. The organisation harnesses the power of the Heart of Midlothian badge to build and deliver high quality support services around mental health, equality, and social isolation. Big Hearts also acts as community anchor for grassroot and non-profit groups in the surroundings of Tynecastle Stadium.

Scottish Autism

Scottish Autism exists to help autistic people lead meaningful and fulfilling lives and be recognised as valued members of the community they live in. Scottish Autism provides services and support for children and adults including education, day and vocational opportunities, residential, practical living support, outreach, respite and transition services. It also provides the only autism-specific Advice Line in Scotland, and online support and post-diagnostic services.

Four Square

Four Square provides beautiful accommodation, person-centred support, and work and learning opportunities to help people avoid becoming homeless, move on from homelessness, and to prevent them facing homelessness again. The organisation works across Edinburgh supporting 1,000 people each year and employing 90 staff with its social enterprises. The Edinburgh Furniture Initiative on Gorgie Road and Saughton Park Café
